We think that Tracie will be staying, but this has not been confirmed directly to us, so therefore we didn't put her in the list. We only list performers that have been confirmed to us that will be staying/joining. Jeff Nicholson, Stephen John Davis, David Thaxton and more are probably also staying, but again we haven't included them as they haven't been confirmed directly to us.

Here is the new Jean Valjean 1st cover Jacob Chapman:

He looks a bit young to play Jean Valjean, doesn't he? But apparently, this is an old photo, so I guess he is older now... Wink

I think nowadays the age doesn't matter much for a role.

I mean, 22year old Javerts are quite common now.
And there were always Valjean covers that hadn't reached 30 when they played it. Many were mid 20 when they covered the role.

Agreed.

I sometimes think that part of the reason, perhaps, is that it's easier to age an actor as his character grows older than to make an older performer look younger.
Not to mention younger performers are continuously improving and are more likely to have the stamina required to perform the role continuously.

I will be interested to see Jacob Chapman, as I've become accustomed to seeing all the JVJs and covers over the last few years.

I know this sounds like a silly question- after a while of asking I can imagine that some of you are like "We will find out when the information is given."! But- does anyone have any added info on the new cast yet? I understand they have been rehearsing for a while now and thought maybe someone knows someone who knows someone in the new cast?

If anyone knows anything they can tell, you can guarantee it'll be up here pretty quickly, don't worry.

Was chatting to a couple of the cast today who have been rehearsing this week trying to find out more names. Fantine is going to be played by an old favourite - Sophia Ragavelas is coming in as Fantine. Will be great seeing her back. also joinin the cast are Jonathan D Ellis as Thenadier cover and Eaton James who was in the tour a few years ago. I did get a few other names but there was too much chatting going on and didnt get spellings and dont want to put up the wrong names will try and get more when I go next week.

Who's Eaton James playing? I saw him play Chris in Miss Saigon, he's an excellent singer and actor and he's also quite good looking.

One of the new women playing either Cosette or Eponine is called Olivia something but I forget her full name.

Maybe this is her? http://www.lamda.org.uk/studentfiles/2006/c2006/brol.pdf
She graduated from LAMDA in 2006 and it is mentioned in her bio that she has played (?) understudy Eponine at Palace theatre, Manchester. BUT she is born in 1985, which probably makes her too young to have played Eponine in Manchester and too old to have played Young Eponine.

What do you think?

If she graduated 2006- when did she have time to play eponine for a year, and the other shows too? She's quite tall as well- she may have been young eponine- also, they say that cosette and eponine girls are making their west end debut.
