John Owen-Jones, the current Jean Valjean in London, will swap places with the current Broadway Valjean, Drew Sarich, in October.
John Owen-Jones, voted the Best Ever London Les Misérables Performer by fans of the show in the londonlesmis.co.uk voting two years ago (click here to see the results), is now heading for Broadway. He will make his Broadway debut when he starts as Jean Valjean at the Broadhurst theatre on 23rd October. His last show in London will be on 6th October, but he might return to London next year. However, this is not yet confirmed.
Drew Sarich will make his West End debut on 22nd October as Jean Valjean in Les Misérables. Sarich has played various roles in the show on Broadway, both Grantaire, Javert and Enjolras, until he most recently (in July) took over the role of Jean Valjean.
Current Jean Valjean understudy, Peter Saul, will most likely play the role of Jean Valjean from 8th October to 20th October.
